I am currently working with students in an after school program and I have used Inq-ITS to emphasize things that students are struggling with in their science classes. One of the biggest things that I am seeing is that students are struggling with writing a reasoning statement as it relates to claims and evidence.
Teaching students how to do a write up that says their evidence supports or does not support a given claim and why has been a big step in what I have been doing.
I have been utilizing Inq-ITS with students, here in San Diego, as a way to help students with analyzing scientific data and creating reasoning statements in a clear and concise manner.
